Belly Shot:

What the baby looks like this week: She is as big as a teddy bear :) Eyelids (which have been fused since 11 or 12 weeks) can now open and close. This week, she weighs almost 2 pounds and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, her brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. —baby's brain tissue and neurons are all developing at a rapid pace. Her brain waves are now firing away just like those of a newborn baby.

Week 25: Time is just flying by!

Waist Measurements: 40" at the belly button

Weigh in: 137lbs according to the home scale (I'm not sure if I should trust it)

Pregnancy Symptoms this Week:
  • Tiredness
  • Loss of Breath
Pregnancy first this week: I was called a pregnant woman!!! It hasn't fully hit me yet because it kind of shocked me... Who me??? A pregnant Woman??? You think it would have hit me by now!

My Pregnancy Brain: I cant believe I will be holding her in my arms in less than 17 Weeks. I cant wait to wrap her in the blankets I made her, and to stare in her eyes and fall deeply in Love! I can't help but wonder who she will look like. Lastly, I cant wait to see Paul hold her and watch him melt at the sight of his little girl!

Pregnancy Prep: I made something else this week. :) Hopefully I can start on the next one soon. I cant seem to find the fabric anywhere.

Dots! & Pink Zebra!
I Also placed my last order for cloth diapers :) we should be ready to go now!
Newborn and infant size prefolds
Snappies (Pins no longer needed)
Thirsties Diaper cover (I got a pink one)
Mothers Adjustable Diaper Cover
Dr Visits: None this week

Belly Shot:

What the baby looks like this week: Weighs about 1 1/2 pounds and is 13 1/2 inches long. Is growing more hair, with a distinctive color and texture and everything. My uterus the size of a soccer ball . My fundal measurements have grown about an inch-and-a-half in the past four weeks alone. She's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. Her hands are now fully developed and she spends most of her awake time groping around in the darkness of my uterus. Brain and nerve endings are developed enough now so that she can feel the sensation of touch. Also her nostrils, which have been plugged up until now, have cleared out and she can practice breathing through the nose. The structures of her spine are now made up of 150 joints, 33 rings and some 1,000 ligaments. The capillaries, the teeniest blood vessels, are now forming in her body, giving her formerly translucent skin a pink glow. The blood vessels in the lungs also develop this week.

24 Weeks! Growth Spurt!

Waist Measurements: 39.5" at the belly button, No change this week, maybe that's why I gained so much the past couple of weeks she had a growth spurt!

Weigh in: 138lbs according to the dr. (sheeh that's 12lbs in one month!)

Pregnancy Symptoms this Week:
  • Very Hormonal
  • Left hip pain
  • Forgetfulness
  • Insatiable Hunger
Pregnancy first this week: Big Weight gain this month. The good thing is my Dr. was not worried at all, she was actually happy that I finally gained weight. I just thought it was a little much for one month but she said it was normal to have one month with a big weight gain.

My Pregnancy Brain: I've been wanting to make all kinds of stuff for the baby, hopefully I can get down to the fabric store soon so I can start on all 10,000 projects :) Oh yeah its also so amazing to finally be feeling her everyday! it's the coolest feeling in the world!

Pregnancy Prep: I made something this week :) Isn't it the cutest thing in the world :) (not bad for my first project..eh)
Dr Visits: Yep had one on Thursday, nothing too exciting just the usually, weight, BP, pee in a cup, check uterus hight, and baby's heart beat. although she did metion that this is my last monthly appointment starting with the next one she gets to see me every two weeks.

Belly Shot:
An attempt at a self portrait
Naked Belly!
(Excuse the mess we are still unpacking)

What the baby looks like this week: Is just about a foot long now. Is still very skinny looking, with translucent skin, but this will all start changing soon. Is officially at the edge of viability, and most hospitals would automatically attempt every possible life-saving option if your baby were to be born now. Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. Her brain is also growing quickly now, and her taste buds are continuing to develop. Her lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant.

  • Very Emotional
  • Forgetfulness
  • Insatiable Hunger
Pregnancy first this week: We signed up for the Bradley Method Classes, I'm so excited! I'm also starting to listen to my hypnobabies CD's.

My Pregnancy Brain: I'm really getting tired of all the negativity, why do people feel the need to tell you the horror stories about there deliveries. Don't they realize that it would be much more helpful to hear good things and positive thoughts???? Thats my rant for the week.

Pregnancy Prep: We made our first Purchases! Check them out!

Dr Visits: None this week.

Belly Shot:
What the baby looks like this week: Is a tad bigger than last week! The pancreas is kicking into gear sometime around this week, and blood vessels continue to develop in the lungs. Lung development is a Big Thing right now, since babies born around 24 weeks gestation can often survive outside the womb. Her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance.

Pregnancy first this week: I've been told like 3 or 4 times this week that I'm "Glowing" I'm not sure if that's a good thing or if my skin is just oily!! Also new this week, now that my back is back to 100% I've started going to the gym again, so far so good.

My Pregnancy Brain: Its still lost, I cant seem to remember anything and I have the attention span of a gnat. I really hope this is due to the pregnancy if not I'm in trouble.

Pregnancy Prep: We started looking at strollers. We'll hopefully buy one next week. :)

Dr Visits: None this week

Belly Shot:
What the baby looks like this week: Is about 11 inches long, which is just about one inch shorter than your average 12-inch ruler. Has likely crossed the one-pound mark in weight. Is getting more defined facial features every day, and already looks unmistakably like himself or herself on a 3D ultrasound. Her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and she's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath her gums. Her eyes have formed, but her irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment.

Belly Shot:

What the baby looks like this week: From now on she will be measured head-to-toe, instead of the head-to-rump measurements so that puts her at 10 1/2 ounces now.and about 6 1/2 inches long — the length of a banana. Her heartbeat can be heard with just a regular old stethoscope now and not just the fancy doppler. She is swallowing and practicing other digestive skills, and can now produce meconium, which is essentially prenatal poop that sits in the bowels during pregnancy.

Belly Shot:

What the baby looks like this week: She is about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. She is now fully assembled; just needs some fattening up and lengthening out. Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear our voice now, so looks like its time to start reading aloud, talking to her, and singing to her. Oh yeah! Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting.
